COMPANY: Studio Bozzetto

COPRODUCTION: Sony Music IT

TASK: Producer Manager (Live action + Post Production)

SOFTWARES: Excel

SECTOR: Live Action - Youtube for Kids

Carolina Benvenga’s YouTube channel, created in collaboration with Sony Music, is a project that is particularly close to my heart. It features a delightful series of baby dance videos for children, starring Carolina and her talented young dancers. Through the use of green screen technology, the performances come to life with magical backgrounds and special effects. From festive Christmas songs to spooky Halloween tunes and catchy summer hits, each video celebrates different seasons and holidays with energetic choreography and engaging visuals, creating a joyful experience for kids.

I joined this project when I was brought into Studio Bozzetto to take over production after the previous producer left. This was my first project with the studio, an iconic and historic company known internationally for the work of Bruno Bozzetto, a pioneer in animation both in Italy and worldwide. Studio Bozzetto revolutionized the animation industry, from commercials to television shows, leaving a lasting mark with its innovative approach, which continues to inspire to this day.

Initially, I joined as support for live-action productions, but over the years, I was entrusted with a variety of projects, including corporate videos, internal communications, TV commercials, and more. However, this project remains special to me—it was my first, and it’s incredible to think that the channel has now surpassed one billion views on YouTube. Contributing to the success of something so significant has been an immensely rewarding experience.

My role in this project spanned the entire production process. It started with the song, which served as the script, followed by the development of the storyboard, the creation of 3D animated backgrounds, and overseeing the shooting day. I also managed costume selection, set design when needed (most of the work was filmed on green screen), and the entire post-production process. This included editing, directing, liaising with the Sony co-producer, and supervising the project from start to finish. Despite being a small team, we worked efficiently and cohesively. Each year, we organized three shooting sessions to produce songs that would be released throughout the year.

Working on this project was also a lot of fun. I found myself singing Christmas songs in the middle of August during pre-production or diving into Halloween themes in the spring. It’s a project that I hold dear, not only for its incredible success but also for the passion and dedication that went into making it a reality.
