“Controcanto” is an independent short film created in just 48 hours for the Lucca48h contest, part of the Lucca Film Festival and Europa Cinema 2020. My team and I worked tirelessly for two consecutive days, writing, shooting, and editing the film immediately after the event organizers raffled off the genre we were assigned to produce.

The intense time constraints made it both a thrilling and creatively challenging experience, and I am proud of what we achieved under such demanding circumstances.

Given that we were a small team, roles often overlapped, and I contributed to the writing process while also serving as the continuity supervisor on set. While photographing for continuity reference, I also took shots for the poster I later designed. Additionally, as producer, I handled the casting, and as a motion designer, I created the opening and closing credits.

The short film won two awards: Best Actress and Best Original Soundtrack. We were very proud of this recognition, even though we knew there were aspects we could have improved with more time — but those were the rules of the game.
