I spent the first lockdown in my hometown, attending online classes for a film production course I had enrolled in before the pandemic. My days were filled with video calls, which eventually became monotonous and isolating.
As a result, I started imagining COVID-19 as a new type of bubble gum and decided to create a fake advertisement for fun. Though I hadn’t used Cinema4D in years, it took me just one day to model and animate the idea. It was both amusing and a little unsettling how quickly I was able to recall a software I hadn’t touched in three years, despite having relied on it daily for two years straight.
After completing that I began imagining “useful” products inspired by the self-certification requirements needed to circulate during lockdown. The result was a tongue-in-cheek take on the situation—irreverent and completely unserious. I treated it as a Poor Art 2020 edition, and I had a lot of fun creating it.
